Terms of Service
These terms govern use of Better-learn, operated by [Registered legal entity name], [Registered address, city, state, PIN], India. Using the service means accepting them.
What the service does
Better-learnruns automated grading for coursework hosted on GitHub. A teacher creates an assignment from a template repository; a student accepts it and receives their own private copy; each push to the default branch is graded by running the assignment's test command in an isolated sandbox, and the result is reported back to GitHub and in the app.
Accounts
- Sign-in is through GitHub. You are responsible for your GitHub account and anything done through it.
- An organization is created when the Better-learn GitHub App is installed, and the person who installs it becomes its first teacher. Teachers control who else joins, and with what role.
- You must have the right to install the app on the GitHub organization you install it on, and the right to grade the repositories you point assignments at.
Acceptable use
Grading executes code you supply, in a sandbox, at your direction. You must not use it to run anything unlawful, to attack or overload any system, to mine cryptocurrency, or to circumvent the usage limits described below. We may suspend an organization that does.
Plans and limits
Each organization has a monthly allowance of graded runs and sandbox time. Reaching it stops grading for the rest of the period; pushes are still recorded. Assignments also carry a per-student daily run limit set by the teacher. Current allowances are shown on the pricing section of the home page and on the billing page.
Payment
The Pro plan is billed monthly in Indian Rupees through Razorpay. Prices are shown inclusive or exclusive of taxes as indicated at checkout. Cancellation and refunds are covered in the Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
Your content
You keep ownership of your repositories, assignments and student work. We store what is needed to operate the service — assignment configuration, repository names, commit identifiers, grading output and scores — and we do not claim any right to use it beyond that. See the Privacy Policy.
Availability
The service depends on GitHub, the sandbox provider and a payment provider, and can be affected when any of them is unavailable. It is provided as-is, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Grading results are a tool for assessment, not a substitute for a teacher's judgement.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, liability arising from use of the service is limited to the amount paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending an account
You may stop using the service at any time and cancel any subscription from the billing page. We may suspend or end access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and will say why where we can.
Changes
These terms may change as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected in the date below, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions go to [support@yourdomain], or see the contact page.
